Brook J. Wood, A.A., B.A., J.D., was born and raised in South-East Edmonton, Alberta. He attended the University of Alberta Law school and joined Morrison LLP as an associate lawyer after completing his articles of clerkship with the Firm.
Prior to joining Morrison LLP, Brook worked for the late Carol Crosson defending Constitutional rights and freedoms across the country in several high-profile cases, including matters related to the Charter rights of freedom of conscience and religion; freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression; and the right to life, liberty and security of the person.
Brook also personally founded and fundraised initiatives for litigation protecting Constitutional and Human Rights throughout Alberta, volunteering his time as a law student to assist numerous individuals seeking relief under the Alberta Human Rights Act during the height of covid-19 related government-imposed restrictions on freedom.
Outside of the office, Brook enjoys sports (hockey, golf, rugby) and stays engaged in his local community. He is currently a member of the Runnymede Society of Canada, the Alberta Court of King’s Bench Amicus program, and the Estate Planning Council of Edmonton.
