Joel D. Murphy

Joel Murphy was a partner at Morrison LLP. He passed away on October 29, 2022.
Joel grew up in Edmonton and attended the University of Alberta, where he was awarded a Bachelor’s of Science and Juris Doctor. Prior to joining the partnership of Morrison LLP, Joel worked in the real estate groups of both Brownlee LLP and Swainson Miki Peskett LLP, with a focus on commercial and residential real estate. In addition to his real estate practice, Joel assists clients with a wide variety of corporate, commercial, and wills and estates matters.
Joel understands that buying a home is often the single biggest purchase in a person’s life. His natural ability to communicate legal issues to clients helps to simplify the often complicated real estate process. Joel’s sound judgement and people skills are what make him an asset to both his clients and those he works with.
When Joel is not practicing law, he can often be found exploring the newest local restaurants, or putting his random fact knowledge to good use at trivia nights.
