Jarrett Tilley is an Associate Lawyer practicing in the areas of Family Law, Civil Litigation, Estate Litigation and Wills and Probate. He joined Morrison LLP in September 2023.
Graduating early and cum laude from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, Jarrett was admitted to the Washington State Bar before returning home to his family on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. After gaining some expertise in bureaucracy after having gone through the National Committee on Accreditation to obtain his Certificate of Qualification in May 2021, Jarrett split his articles between family law and civil litigation firms, diversifying his experiential legal knowledge, before being called to the British Columbia Bar in 2022. In August 2023, Jarrett was formally admitted to the Alberta Bar.
Jarrett brings a settlement focused and litigation ready approach to both his Family Law and Civil Litigation practice. Having obtained his Certificate in Conflict Resolution and Theory with a mediation focus from Mitchell Hamline’s Dispute Resolution Institute, he understands that solutions work better and last longer when they come from the parties themselves. To that end, Jarrett works closely with his clients to design grounded-yet-tenacious case strategies that are cost-effective, time-conscious, and seek both justice and reconciliation, where possible. He understands that a trial may only last a few days for a lawyer, but the results will impact clients for their lifetimes.
When not in the office or the courtroom, you can find Jarrett at church or out exploring the wonderful natural beauty that Alberta has to offer, oftentimes with a good cup of coffee in hand.
